How Logosynthesis® works
The problem it addresses
When a pattern is rooted in consolidated implicit memory — not misunderstanding, not skill deficit, not relational rupture — top-down approaches reach a natural ceiling. The client knows. They can regulate. The pattern persists anyway.
This is not a therapeutic failure. It is a mechanism question. Memory reconsolidation research (Ecker, Ticic & Hulley) identifies specific conditions under which a stored pattern can update at the structural level — not be managed or regulated, but genuinely changed in its structure. Affective neuroscience (LeDoux, Panksepp) maps the distinction between explicit and implicit learning systems: systems that do not communicate through language and insight alone, and that require a different kind of intervention to reach.
Logosynthesis® is designed as a clinical application of these principles. Its intervention targets the specific consolidated representations through which a pattern is held — working at the level the reconsolidation literature describes, using focused verbal statements to reorganise the structure rather than process its contents.
What the intervention does
Rather than processing the pattern through narrative, exploration, or regulation, Logosynthesis® uses focused verbal statements directed at specific representations in the client's perceptual field. The statements do not explain or analyze the representation — they shift its structure.
In the Logosynthesis® model, these representations are understood as consolidated energy structures held in the client's personal space. The verbal statements direct the client's intention to reorganize this structure — allowing the energy bound in the representation to release and return to flow.
The three Logosynthesis® sentences
The verbal formulations at the core of Logosynthesis® are three structured statements applied in sequence. The [x] refers to the specific representation identified through the case formulation process — an image, a scene, a voice, a belief held in the body.
-
01
I retrieve all my energy bound up in [x], and I take it to the right place in my Self.
-
02
I remove all non-me energy related to [x], from all my cells, all my body, and my personal space and I send it to where it truly belongs.
-
03
I retrieve all my energy bound up in all my reactions to [x], and I take it to the right place in my Self.
Reading the sentences here gives you the structure. Experiencing them directed at a live representation — under the right clinical conditions — is a different thing. The free webinar is built around a live demonstration for exactly this reason. Therapists and coaches who want to work with the method on their own material before committing to full training can begin with Below the Surface — three sessions that introduce the model and give you direct experience of what it does, before the Basic Seminar takes it into clinical depth.
What the practitioner does
The practitioner guides the client to identify the specific representation activating the pattern. They then guide the client through the three sentences directed at that representation. The process is brief. It does not require narrative elaboration, emotional catharsis, or prolonged exposure.
The effect, when the correct representation has been identified, is typically observable within the session: a visible softening, a reduction in charge, a shift in how the client relates to what was just activated. The practitioner does not need to interpret what happened — the change is visible.
